Eiffel Tower

Tonight’s goal was to see the Eiffel Tower up-close and watch the twinkling light show that happens for 5 minutes every hour after dark.  We arrived in plenty of time to wander down the Champ de Mars.  The kids were able to run around on the grass.  They wanted to wrestle.  It was dicey for a while as the stress of the trip was getting to us all.  Prior to the trip we made a family decision to NOT go up the tower.  But when “J” saw it up-close and in person she changed her mind.  I guess if you are going to have a family tiff…the Eiffel Tower makes a nice back drop.

Both kids saw photos like these (holding up the Eiffel Tower) on the Internet and wanted to replicate it for themselves.

These days every photo is a compromise.  Smile for a nice photo and then I'll take a crazy photo.

Seriously Dad...another picture?

This double decker carousel was across the street from the Eiffel Tower and it was a great way yo kill time before dark.

I really tried to get a shot of the kids on the carousel with the Eiffel Tower in the background but I never managed a good shot. This one is blurry but cute.

I love this shot of the lights (and burned out lights) of the carousel with the tower in the background.

This odd seating arrangement was the waiting area for the carousel.

Ok, it's getting dark. Let's head for the Trocadero

The look on my husbands face is "seriously-can't you even let us pose first".  But I was in too much of a hurry to worry about posing and smiling.

 This is gorgeous!
