Happy 9th Birthday Green Family Blog

Oh and Happy Birthday to my
baby girl who turned 13.

She was really bummed this year because she got her "BIG" present in August. It was a new laptop that needed it for school.  And well we have been really busy lately and her birthday just wasn't in the forefront of my mind and she knew it.  But that makes a surprise even more fun.  We were able to manage a few more unexpected gifts and a fun night on the town.

Laughing at a funny card from Grandma and Grandpa

Wearing the MANDITORY birthday tiara
Dinner out with the family.  Never quite as fun as hanging with your friends.

Especially when you have to sit next to your brother.

Then another great performance by Cirque Du Soliel

 Weird and wonderful as always.
We saved cake to share with friends

Randomness

I found a few photos that don't fit in anywhere else.

Fun free KSU volleyball game.  Those Lady Owls ROCK.

This precious bundle of doggie awesomeness.

This ridiculously seductive looking dog.

One of dozens of HUGE Asian Pears we grew (but don't really care for).

My first born being considerably taller than his dad.

The hurricane that plowed through gently blew past Georgia.

This gorgeous bundle of fluff that "J" took care of for a week.

Science Stuff

The kids had a little extra science lesson about forensic science.  Why...because we can.

Step up to the Bar

The Georgia Bar Association that is.  We had another fun day learning about the law.  "J" got to be a witness and "T" got to be a juror. So they have each had a turn and now I don't have to go back.

So the kids did some learnin and I had hot tea and chatted with a friend.

This is some big fancy room that muckety-mucks use for meetings... I think...I mean I wasn't listening.  I've already done 8th grade and 9th grade so I am not required to pay attention.

The office of (Woodrow-maybe) Wilson and obviously some other guy. I think they maybe had something to do with law.  Did I mention I wasn't listening.

Remind me why there is a firing range here.  I think this building was once a federal reserve building and the guards could practice down here.

Now for the FUN part-the trial. The witness is sworn in and swears to tell nothing but the truth.

"T" discusses the trial with manipulates the jury.  His arguments are compelling.

Me Time

This blog is really about the family and more specifically the kids which are far more interesting than mom and dad....But mom does occasionally get to have a little kid-free fun.

A dear friend from High School came to visit and we had a girls weekend on the town.  We did all the typical touristy things....Like drinking $17.oo worth of Coke samples in the World Of CocaCola tasting room.

We got to have a little pool time.

And she hooked us up with a great room with a view.

We also saw a concert

And ate at some ATL landmarks like The Vortex and Hops Chicken

I also went to a High School Football game and since my child will only be seen with me long enough to ask for more money...I count it as "mom"time
 I wasn't expecting rain...glad my friend was

Total Eclipse

We drove to the totality, excited to experience this once -in-a-lifetime event. But first we went to the mall because it's hot in South Carolina in August.  "T" was the only one brave enough to try this contraption.  The rest of us laughed ourselves silly at his expense.  "T" is such a good sport.

We are ready-bring on the eclipse.

We met grandma and grandpa.  Grandma thought eh whole thing was silly..."I'm not a sheep" she said.  "I don't do what everyone else does" She said.....Guess who loved it more than any of us!

We had a great time but sadly this was basically our view of the totality.  But we did get to experience all the other cool phenomena...but I wish we had gone to the mountains instead ad they didn't have the cloud cover.
