Smithsonian

We arrived in DC before 9 am.  That my friends is dedication.  Amazingly we were able to check in to our hotel...but don't sit down yet kids...we have a city to explore.

First stop...Air and Space.  Not my favorite or "J's" but we persevered while the boys explored.

Wait a minute...stop the presses...we found a flight simulator.  "T" was the gunner and "J" was the pilot.  "Make it an extreme ride" he told his sister..."Mega extreme" - For future reference "J" translates "Mega Extreme" as constant barrel rolls for two full minutes.

After a delicious barely edible lunch at the food court we headed over to the natural Science Museum...and this one was a winner.  They loved it so much that we went back the next day.

We enjoyed the butterfly habitat (and would not leave until something landed on "J").  The butterfly habitat at the Chattanooga Aquarium is far superior but this one is nice enough.

And most of the rest of our time was spent at the insect zoo...

Oh joy...it's tarantula feeding time.

Yeah, I don't know what is happening here...but sometimes I enjoy pulling photos off the kids phones.
