Memorials at Night

Our first stop was the Capitol. But because we were the only ones in the group who booked the boat portion we were a bit late meeting up with the rest of the group.  Luckily we saw the Capitol yesterday....

The next stop was the White House which is very lovely at night.

The Executive Office Building is one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen.

The WWII Memorial was lovely at night as well.

I wasn't a fan of FDRs memorial.  I thought it took up a bit too much prime real-estate.  And it took up a lot of our tour time too.

Yep lots of free time with FDR...

But I LOVED the Martin Luther King Memorial.  Amazing!

As awesome as some of the memorials were at night...some were definitely best toured in the day time. Like the Korean War Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial and probably FDR too.

Although seeing this in the dark made it seem far too lifelike.

Of course I prefer the Lincoln Memorial at night.

Another small criticism of a night tour...it that night is late...at least in August it is.  We didn't get back to our room until 11:00.  And boy were we tired.
