Snow has been a rarity for us since moving south. We actually saw more snow in Texas than we did the first 3 or 4 years in Georgia. Some call it climate change. I say who knows. Either way it's all kind of awesome for the kids. This most recent snow was unprecedented. We got 6 whole inches. The kids have been playing and sledding for so long I'm starting to worry about frostbite.

This was some serious snow. |

Too bad we don't own a sled. I owned snow shoes once but I sold them years ago on Ebay. Anyway...we tried a cardboard box, storage tub lid, laundry basket, pool floats, and a slip-n-slide. I saw one neighbor sledding with a satellite dish. |

"J" takes a turn with the pink pool float. Pool floats make excellent sleds....except for complete lack of steering. |

"T" borrows a "real" sled from a neighbor. |

The day before the storm the grocery store was crazy. It always makes me wonder...do people not have food in their homes? I'm pretty sure we could eat for months with what we have in the freezer and pantry. Then again most people don't buy meat by the cow like we do.
