Twas the Night Before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring. Don't I wish. My teenagers stay up till all hours of the morning insuring that Santa has to go through all of North America then circle around back to Georgia to leave his bounty. But that's ok. This year was a pajama Christmas no big dinner, no company. It was very relaxing.
No Christmas Eve gifts without a photo for mom.
Still all smiles on Christmas morning.
While "T" wanted a gaming console for Christmas, "J" wanted a room makeover. So mom and dad spent the week after Christmas working.
I've been through this before. So instead of moving furniture we do this. Once the arrangement was decided on we could proceed with the fun stuff.
The Painting! This is the 5th color this room has been. And I swear its the last. Also why didn't I buy the better paint this time....4 coats later and we had peachy coral.
Now it was time for the pulling up of the really yucky carpet to find a really yucky sub floor. Carpet is really only for people who don't have kids, pets, or hobbies. This room is the last one to get new flooring and it desperately needed it.
We really should have had wood floors put in the kids bedrooms when we did the rest of the house. Alas now it's going to have to be Luxury Vinyl Tile instead. DIY and inexpensive. It wasn't quite as easy as I expected. "D" helped and together we managed to get it finished in less than 2 days.
Looks pretty snazzy.
And this closet is PRO! I would have totally just painted the floor and moved on but "D" spent 2 hours precisely measuring and cutting 2 tiles to fit around the door jams. It looks great.
We still have a few more little projects to complete before we are finished but these 2 think we did a great job.
