Road Trip

A few weeks ago I took both kids on a road trip sans dad. I was a little nervous to make the trip alone. What a surprise, the kids were great. We even got to stop at a few fun places along the way.

"T" enjoys some lemon icecream from Tony's (founded in 1915).  My grandma used to take me to Tony's when I was a kid.  My dad remembered when Tony's brought ice around town in a wooden push cart.  The ice cream was cooled with a big block of ice.  It's wonderful to share this family tradtion with my children.
"a little bit of mine and a little bit of mom's....mmm perfect"

Does the "welcome station" (rest stop) count as a fun place?  Well it does when there are free maps and a big dog to pose with.
